JD Kennels is a premier full service pet boarding facility and doggie day camp situated on over 9 acres in the quaint rural town of Royse City, Texas. We serve the Dallas metroplex as well as the rural areas of northeast Texas. Every stay includes all day camp play for every pet in our care. We believe the camp life is the good life when it comes to providing a full and enriching boarding experience for your pets.  

We are available 365 days a year for boarding, Monday through Friday for day camp, and offer specials for pets that need long-term care. We have several different play yards with varied terrains and apparatuses to keep your pups well entertained, as well as two in-ground graduated-depth swimming pools for those hot Texas summers. 

Our senior dogs can enjoy a more relaxed experience in our Lonestar Lodge - a dedicated area with its own play yard for our seniors to enjoy the peace and quiet the country life has to offer. The Lonestar Lodge is reserved exclusively for seniors and dogs with certain medical conditions.
For the felines, we offer a luxury cattery complete with with 3-story condos and a large open area for scratching and exploring.

Guests coming from Dallas have the option to add pick-up and return transportation for their pets aboard our Camp Shuttle - a Mercedes Sprinter van equipped with top-of-the-line crates and added safety measures for their traveling comfort.  

Your pet will be safe, comfortable, and occupied with fun activities during the entirety of their stay. We strive to provide the safest, cleanest, and most FUN camp experience for your pets in all of north Texas.

Providing a safe and positive play experience for your pet while either boarding or at day camp is our priority. We are committed to understanding group dog behavior and educating all staff on safe play group management techniques. Your dog will love playing with pups of similar size and play style. During play, your dog will benefit physically from exercise and mentally from enrichment games and activities.

We are proud members of The Dog Gurus, the best educational resource available on off‐leash dog play. Each staff member is trained through their "Knowing Dogs" program and has taken their Dog Play Safety Pledge as a commitment to keeping your dog safe. You and your dog will love the JD Kennels difference in our play groups, where safety and fun are the measures of success.

Amie has been the General Manager at JD Kennels since 2022. Even though she pets many dogs throughout the day at JD, she still asks to pet every dog she meets outside of work, as well. She resides in Fate and has two spoiled standard poodles, Lucy & Madonna, as well as an adorable Mini-Mutt, Sgt. Pepper.
Jessy is our incredible kennel manager, known for her calm leadership, deep love for animals, and the rare ability to keep both dogs and schedules perfectly in line. When she's not caring for our furry guests, she can be found at home being lovingly judged by her cat, Fog. Her attention to detail, compassion, and sense of humor make her an invaluable part of our team. Simply put - this place runs better because she's in it.
Martin has been our dedicated facility overseer and camp shuttle driver since 1997, keeping everything running smoothly from sunrise to sunset - and beyond. Living just steps away from the kennel, he keeps a close watch on the property 24/7, giving everyone peace of mind. Whether he's shuttling pups to camp or handling day-to-day tune-ups and repairs, Martin does it all with quiet efficiency and care. 
Rupert resides in JD's cattery. He strives to make every cat guest feel welcome and comfortable. He also attends every job interview and offers immediate feedback to prospective camp counselors.
